Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 tbsp oil or ghee
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 inch ginger grated
  • 2 tomatoes chopped
  • 1.5 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt or heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro or parsley
  • steamed white rice for serving

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Heat oil or ghee in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden. Stir in garlic and grated ginger.
  • Step 2: Add ground meat and cook until browned and crumbled.
  • Step 3: Stir in garam masala, cumin, turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until softened and blended in.
  • Step 4: Reduce heat and stir in yogurt or cream. Simmer for 5–10 minutes until thickened and fragrant.
  • Step 5: Serve keema curry around a mound of steamed white rice. Garnish with chopped cilantro or parsley.

Notes

For extra depth, add a pinch of ground cinnamon or crushed cardamom. Great with naan on the side, too!
