About

Hi, I’m Jolene Kramer, and for me, cooking has always been about more than just food—it’s about creating comfort, sharing stories, and making everyday life a little more special.

I’m 43 years old and live in Madison, Wisconsin, where the winters are cold, the summers are short, and the kitchen is the coziest place in the house. I grew up in a family where recipes were passed around like treasures—handwritten on index cards, tucked into cookbooks, and smudged with flour from years of use. Those recipes became the foundation of my cooking, but I’ve added plenty of my own touches along the way.

I’m not a trained chef—I’m a home cook who has learned through trial, error, and lots of taste-testing. Some dishes have been huge hits, others not so much, but every single one has taught me something. That’s the spirit I bring to my kitchen: try new things, enjoy the process, and don’t be afraid to laugh at the mistakes.

Here you’ll find recipes that are simple, hearty, and made for real life—weeknight dinners that actually fit into busy schedules, baked goods that fill the house with warmth, and seasonal favorites that make the most of what’s fresh and local. My family and friends are my official taste-testers, and nothing gets shared here unless it earns their approval.

So come on in, make yourself at home, and let’s cook something wonderful together. I hope the recipes you find here bring just as much joy to your table as they do to mine.

With love,
Jolene
